Hot Tire Pressure Compensator

Standing at the gas station inflator with warm tires? Calculate the exact target PSI so it settles to your door placard cold spec overnight.

Set Gas Station Pump To:
36.0 PSI
Tires are hot from driving (+4 PSI thermal expansion). Inflating to 36.0 PSI right now ensures pressure drops to your exact 32.0 PSI door spec once cooled!
⚠️ NEVER BLEED AIR FROM HOT TIRES!
A warm tire reading higher than your door sticker is normal thermal air expansion. If you let air out of a hot tire, it will be dangerously under-inflated once cooled, causing sidewall blowouts!
1. Door Jamb Placard Cold Pressure
Factory Cold Spec (Sticker on B-pillar): 32.0 PSI
26 PSI (Sedan) 32-35 PSI (Standard) 38-44 PSI (EV / Heavy SUV)
2. How Far Did You Drive To The Pump?
❄️
Cold Tire
Parked >3 hrs or driven <1 mile (+0 PSI)
🌤️
Warm Tire
Driven 5-10 mins city streets (+2.5 PSI)
🔥
Hot Highway
Driven >15 mins at high speed (+4.5 PSI)
3. Seasonal Cold Weather Shift (Optional) 0°C (No shift)

Charles's Gas Law: Tire pressure drops ~1 PSI for every 10°F (5.6°C) drop in seasonal temperature.

-20°C (Winter Freeze) -10°C (Autumn Drop) 0°C (Same Temp) +10°C (Summer Heat)
🚗 Tire Tread Contact Patch & Safety
Under-Inflated
Shoulders bald, +5% gas, blowouts
Target Pressure
Even grip, max safety, low wear
Over-Inflated
Center bald, harsh ride, skid risk
⚙️ How to Clear Blinking TPMS Light
Toyota / Lexus (Button under dash / Infotainment) ▼
Turn ignition ON. Press and hold the TPMS 'Set' button (located under steering wheel or inside glovebox) until the tire light blinks 3 times slowly. Drive for 15-30 minutes above 25 mph.
Honda / Acura (Calibration menu) ▼
Park the car. On center touchscreen, go to Settings → Vehicle → TPMS Calibration → Calibrate. The system recalibrates wheel speed rotation over the next 30 minutes of driving.
Tesla (Model 3 / Y / S / X) ▼
Tap Controls → Service → Wheel & Tire → Tire Pressure Reset. Select your wheel size, then drive above 15 mph (25 km/h) for ~10 minutes for BLE sensors to auto-learn.
